Mid-Week Challenge

Most everyone has asked the question, “why am I here and how did I get here?”  The first part can be placed firmly in a religious/spiritual category and the second one has provided more room for debate.  Are you a Creationist or Evolutionist? At one time, many years ago, both were called theories, today evolution is presented as science fact.  “Trust the science,” we hear.  If the last two years has taught us anything it is that science can be trusted, but the scientist with an agenda should never be trusted.  Control the information and you control the population.  Thanks to modern technology in social media and communication, those who honestly look at the facts, are able to commutate their findings.  If you have ever gotten frustrated with an atheist evolutionist who refused to have a dialogue with you and treated you like an inferior, then you will love the reporting by The Guardian on how many biologists are asking if we need a new theory of evolution because they are approaching the history of subject and the facts honestly.

Madeline Kuiper of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview does an excellent job of reviewing and responding to the Guardianarticle in her piece, Why Even Evolutionists Are Questioning Evolution. In it, she explains why Creationist should never cave to the pressures of this world. We should trust science but never give up our Biblical believes based on popular opinion.   Her response is as follows:

According to a recent article in The Guardian, the theory of evolution may be in trouble. For the first time in a long time, scientists are bucking the so-called “Neo-Darwinian synthesis,” which has dominated the sciences since the early 20th century.

This doesn’t mean “evolution” is finished as a theory, but it could mean the end of thinking of it as the only theory.

There’s a lesson here for Christians. Every new fad, whether in science, the arts, government, or social issues, comes with the temptation to capitulate or avoid being on “the wrong side of history.

In the past, proponents of the death of religion, the looming “population bomb,” utopian Marxism, and all kinds of other theories have made this claim, only to be proven completely false as time went on.

As a theory of everything, neo-Darwinism has failed. As a theory of the origins of biological diversity, it is clearly failing. Christians have no cause to abandon what Scripture reveals just because an idea, lifestyle, or theory becomes popular.

Jesus tells us that we will have struggles in this world, but He has overcome the world.  Don’t worry about being on the wrong side of history when serving the Savior who made history and has given us a glimpse of the future to come.

Serving the Savior,

Bro. Jonathan
