Mid-Week Challenge

Sometimes you just need a laugh! In the craziness of the world we live in today, sometimes we just need to give our brains a rest for a moment and let our hearts be merry.  The Babylon Bee is a satire news website that I visit when I need to be reminded that I am not the only one that feels like the world has lost its collective mind.   https://babylonbee.com/

A few of the most recent headlines I have enjoyed includes: During Powerful Sermon, Woman Deeply Convicted That Her Husband Needs To Repent https://babylonbee.com/news/during-powerful-sermon-man-deeply-convicted-that-his-wife-needs-to-repent  NFL To Provide All Refs Seeing-Eye Dogs https://babylonbee.com/news/to-increase-accuracy-of-calls-nfl-to-provide-all-refs-seeing-eye-dogs?utm_source=The%20Babylon%20Bee%20Newsletter&utm_medium=email

Solomon was the original king of satire.  One of my favorites is: Ecclesiastes 10:19 - A feast is prepared for laughter, and wine makes life happy, and money is the answer for everything. Anyone over 35 knows that he is joking!

Laughter is an amazing ability that God gave us. Laughter helps us cope with the ups and downs of life. The Bible gives us permission to use humor as a way to handle the difficulties of life (Ecclesiastes 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance). The Bible also gives us the strength to be able to laugh at the wicked ways of this world. “The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming” (Psalm 37:12-13).

Life is serious, but don’t take yourself too seriously. Give yourself a break and some breathing room (Proverbs 15:15

All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of heart has a continual feast). Laugh a little! You will be surprised at how good it will make you feel!

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.  Proverbs 17:22

Serving the Savior,

Bro. Jonathan
